Abstract

In a market economy, the primary objective of a socially oriented economy is to engage in activities that promote social protection for all segments of society and build a strategy for an efficient social policy. The social sphere is contingent upon the condition of the economy, as well as the political and spiritual climate within the country. Consequently, it has a substantial impact on economic, political, and social processes. In the absence of a functional social structure, a significant portion of the population becomes reliant on social welfare. The objective of this study is to examine the impact of the demographic dividend on the enhancement of social well-being. This research aims to identify the factors that influence the socio-economic conditions from the 1990s to the present and to explore the potential for utilizing these findings in social policy implementation. By doing so, it is anticipated that the number of individuals seeking social assistance due to changes in the demographic structure will decrease, allowing financial resources to be allocated toward economic development. The article identifies the breach of the regularity of the demographic dividend as a factor that hinders economic development. The dividend calculation algorithm is designed based on the population structure, and it draws conclusions about the asymmetric relationship between factors that restrict demographic transition and economic progress. Once the youngest and oldest populations reach their peak, the demographic dividend in the labor market diminishes, causing a small portion of the working-age population to bear the burden of social security for a big portion of the population. Consequently, this leads to an increase in poverty levels. The research process involved the use of empirical analysis, namely regression analysis, to examine the factors that influence the demographic dividend. Significant emphasis was placed on investigating the role of public health and education in safeguarding the well-being of the population.
