Abstract
University professors are an essential part in the growth of a society and their constant updating in different areas of knowledge are an indispensable resource in improvement processes. This research focuses on proposing online training -E-learning- for professors through a virtual platform to improve their level of English. A mixed methodology was used, with 6 in-depth interviews with national and international experts to obtain qualitative data and from its analysis a survey was consolidated applied to a universe of 360 university professors from faculties of education in Cali, Colombia; obtaining a total sample of 98 respondents, having a maximum margin of error applicable to global non-segmented data with a confidence level of 95.5%, and which in the most unfavorable case (p=q=50%), is +-8.7% for obtaining quantitative data. The possibility of distance learning is an aspect highly valued by those surveyed; It is also revealed that the integration of a virtual platform in the improvement of English is one of the best possibilities for offering teaching updating. The educational context promotes the integration of the entire community in a view of evolution towards permanent innovation, where everyone must contribute to the improvement and achievement of educational goals for the common well-being. That is why the integration of an innovative virtual learning platform is seen as a current and striking alternative.
