Abstract

Amidst the contemporary era of accelerated technological growth, educators who specialize in the English language teaching have shed light on the usefulness of YouTube English speaking simulators. With the rapid increase in popularity of YouTube videos, teachers and students can now benefit from their practicality and significance in developing and strengthening effective speaking skills when facing English international examinations. Thus, the target of this study is to critically analyze and unveil how the systematic practice on the Youtube speaking simulators enhances their ability to speak English more accurately not only at English international examinations, but also on a daily basis. There were 20 females and 20 males at Colegio Puerto Varas who eagerly and willingly participated in this research project. The participants were aged between 13 and 16 years old. In accordance with the data gathering process, the instruments used in this study were questionnaires and field notes. In addition, this study employed a mixed-method research design, integrating both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to provide a wider comprehensive understanding of speaking enhancement. Ultimately, the findings reveal substantial progressions in students’ speaking proficiency through the exposure to YouTube speaking emulation videos.
