Abstract
This study explores how generative artificial intelligence (AI), in particular text-to-image technology, may transform art and design education. The focus of the research is on how these technologies support new teaching methods, creativity, and conceptualisation. In order to obtain insights, a qualitative methodology was used, which involved interviewing 10 to 20 varied people, including students and educators. Results show that students may overcome creative challenges, immediately develop ideas, and become more involved with their work when they use text-to-image AI techniques. Teachers also noted that these resources broaden the range of instructional strategies and promote inclusive learning. Obstacles were noted, indicating areas for institutional support, such as the need for academic development and ethical considerations. This study adds to the conversation on the digital transformation of education by supporting the use of AI to encourage creativity. This study contributes to the discussion on the digital transformation of education by supporting the use of AI to promote creativity and support the global objective of inclusive and high-quality learning environments.
