New Learning MOOC’s Updates
Changes in Education from a Student and Teacher Perspective
As both a PhD student and a teacher, I’ve seen significant changes in education, especially with the shift toward technology and online learning.
As a student, I rely more on digital platforms for research and coursework. This provides flexibility but also requires more self-discipline. The lack of structured, in-person discussions can sometimes make learning feel isolating.
As a teacher, I’ve noticed that students increasingly turn to online coding platforms instead of textbooks. While this helps them learn independently, many focus on quick solutions rather than fully understanding the concepts.
Technology has brought many benefits, but it also raises challenges like the digital divide and the need for better training for both students and educators. Finding the right balance between online tools and traditional teaching methods is key.
How have these changes affected your learning or teaching experience?
You provide a thoughtful perspective on the dual impact of technology in education. The flexibility of digital platforms enhances accessibility but also demands greater self-discipline from students. Similarly, while online coding tools promote independent learning, they sometimes encourage surface-level understanding rather than deep conceptual mastery. Striking a balance between technology and traditional methods is crucial to maintaining engagement while ensuring comprehensive learning.
