  I am a Senior Lecturer at Paramadina University, a private university in Jakarta, Indonesia. I teach at the Post-Graduate program of the International Relations department. I wrote several books and published various articles on Islam, democracy, and political issues. Apart from academic life, I am also quite engaged in social-political activism. I founded an NGO called Liberal Islam Network, a movement that focuses on promoting freedom and human right issues.
