Abstract
STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) education has emerged as a critical approach for bolstering the workforce in STEM professions and equipping citizens with the necessary skills to navigate twenty-first-century challenges. As the importance continues to grow, understanding effective strategies for implementing STEM education in classrooms has become increasingly crucial. This study examines the integration of STEM education within formal educational settings. Integration of STEM education started with training teachers, followed by their collaboration with researchers by selecting a real-world problem. Together, they worked on creating a series of STEM lessons, while the research group developed in parallel the necessary resources for the engineering model. The schoolteachers implemented these lessons in selected classrooms for three weeks. Ultimately, the research group measured changes in students across three key areas: their confidence and proficiency in STEM subjects, their enthusiasm for pursuing STEM-related careers, and their acquisition of twenty-first-century skills.
